One worker thought he was visiting his boss, but left with a hungry polydactyl kitten and a new family member

Every forever home starts somewhere. This one started under a grill cover.

Some kittens don't wait to be found. They pick a spot, stay put, and hope the right person comes along. Bibi's hiding place happened to be under her future human's boss's grill cover, and after spending three days there, her patience finally paid off.

While visiting their boss's house, one cat lover discovered a hungry little kitten tucked away beneath the grill cover in the backyard. Nobody knew where she'd come from, though it was suspected she may have wandered over after an abandoned farmhouse across the road was torn down. She'd apparently been hiding there for three days, waiting for someone to notice her. Hungry, alone, and far too young to be on her own, she couldn't have picked a better person to find her.

A trip to the vet revealed that Bibi was a healthy 12-week-old kitten with adorable extra toes, making her even more special than anyone expected. She was a little underweight after going without proper meals, but that quickly became yesterday's problem. These days her routine is exactly what every growing kitten dreams about: eat, play, nap, repeat.

The updates only get sweeter. Bibi has already claimed a hoodie as one of her favorite sleeping spots, spends her waking hours bouncing from one adventure to the next, and has fully embraced the wonderfully chaotic lifestyle that comes with being a kitten. She's currently staying separated from the family's two resident cats while being treated for roundworms, but that hasn't slowed her down one bit. Before long, she'll be exploring the rest of the house and introducing herself to her furry siblings.

Three days under a grill cover ended with a forever home, full bowls, and a family completely wrapped around one little polydactyl paw.

Extra toes just mean there's more kitty to love. Those oversized little paws somehow make every step, every stretch, and every biscuit-making session even cuter than usual. Polydactyl cats already have a way of standing out, and Bibi's adorable bonus beans are just another reason she's impossible to resist. More toes means more tiny paw prints, more toe beans, and just a little extra sweetness packed into one very lucky kitten.

You have to give the Cat Distribution System some credit here. It found one hungry little kitten, tucked her beneath a grill cover, and somehow knew the exact person who would stop, take a closer look, and refuse to leave without her. The timing couldn't have worked out much better. Bibi may have been waiting a few days, but it looks like the system was simply making sure the right human showed up to bring her home.

Bibi already looks like she knows her life has changed for the better. It's hard not to smile seeing a kitten go from hiding under a grill cover to curling up in hoodies, playing all day, and falling asleep with a full belly. She finally has a warm place to call home, people who adore her, and a future that looks a whole lot brighter. We'd say she's settling into the good life pretty quickly.
